When research fellows address their colleagues, do they say "my fellow fellows"?

It seems that 家伙 can mean almost anything. For example, one's tools used for a livelihood can be called “吃饭的家伙”, crutches can be called “走路的家伙” (or so I have heard). Perhaps, I could call my pencil “写字的家伙”，my paper “被写的家伙”，my calculator “计算的家伙” etc. This means that the sentence “我的家伙比你的强！” can mean almost anything too.

Somehow, I find chinese rather interesting. For example, momentum is called 动量, which is similar to the term used by Newton "motive quantity". In physics they also have cool sounding terms for solving problems, and their physics notes are written in like, 文言文. The following is an excerpt of the notes.

“如图2-1 所示，细线下悬着质量为M的光滑，均质圆环,环上套着两个相同的小环,小环质量为m。两小环从最高点无初速释放，当滑至两圆心角为 theta 时，大环开始上升。已知2m>3M, 求theta。”

“此题解法为“临界点分析”，出现临界点时，T刚好为零，大环将动而未动。”
