well well... yesterday training rocked. get thrown by newbies, throw them instead. btw, getting thrown by newbies is not very simple. requires skill to get thrown by them without getting injured. two newbie guys can throw very well. i salute them. two guys can wind people well too. i hope they experience how it feels to get thrown without the tori holding on.
so... well, mugged electronics. was quite okay until i got to inductance. and.... an interesting fact: there is a unit called siemen. ("woow!! this little fella sure has quite a lot of siemens") inductance by itself is not that bad... but then when it is connected to a capacitor.... watch out man.... (i think it would help in understanding a tesla coil. i must consult ggy)
push-ups are good for the muscles. so is rubber pulling
IME is a nice place. the technology involved though, is not newbie firendly. they gave us cake and icecream and briyani and fish fillets... woah man. they rock. and one thing to note. one ri boy(me) and six rgs girls are chosen to do project here. and it would be helpful to note that a sec 3 rgs girl called ruth tan is involved too. go figure. seems this place would be quite friendly.
sum ppl tell me that i lack confidence and i am better than i think. hmm... are these just consolation.... well, my lack of confidence is not without a reason... i am isolated...not without a reason either...i am ignored and shunned by girls... not without a reason....sigh.

same stuff. training, slacking, tokking crap... blah.
so i after training walked back wif lincoln, yiding and mitchell. so we were tokking about prefectorial campaigning... cos well, there are two prefectrorial candidates and one prefect and one ignorant guy there... so i was quite amused by mitchell's election campaign "Vote for mitchell yeo. he feeds birds and is kind to animals.'i like ostrich especially' " i originally tot it is becoz mitch has the sorta.... ostrich-like movement. then he told me it was because he is trying to say that he is a kind person....o well.
then yiding joked that lincoln's election campaign wud be "look! its lincoln luk!" then they turned to me.... pondered for a while and yiding said.... "xin yang, i seriously can't think of any election campaigning theme for you." then lincoln:"YAKS! its xin yang!" LOL
one of the campaigning consisted of two PRC scholars standing at the podium, wif two PRC scholars chanting"Vote for Hao Ran! *clap clap clap clap clap* Vote for Chao Lun! *clap clap clap clap clap* ....." after that the whole chanting the whole school clapped. then the two guys on stage were laughing...then they said" dun think we can just laugh.....we can do more than just laughing" then "hahahahahhahahahhahh...." and some more crap.... quite creative.
o man.... yikes.... i feel so ugly.... I hate looking at the mirror, man. dats why i dun look at girls....coz even if i look and them they wun want to look at me. except my sisters. shite.

the friday heats was not very eventful. but there were some powerful ppl whom i have to mention. MOK. he actually lapped brother zhang in 3k. i think he will lap me like 4 times in 2.4k. yen(dunno his last name) is also very powerful only like 2 m behind mok.
and jimr saw lincoln putting his handphone and wallet somewhere away from his reach unattended. so jimr told lincoln," lincoln, dun put your stuff there."
"why not?"
"because ppl who can run very fast take your stuff and run even faster." LOL(it isn't funny to read it, u shud hear the way he said it for the best effect.
freak. screwed up my tailbone on the very day before training. fork.
during training mr tan told us not to talk so much, and stand up quickly, so i just tried to be crazy and throw fast, but ran out of afterburner, and did more slowly. oh yes, emerson corrected my seoi nage. hope would work tomolo. seems to require more strength, but much more effective, coz its well, emerson's throw.
mr eng mentioned the "good old times" when ppl would kick the face of ppl whom they are buay song with. funness. starfish players can die....
shit man... i noticed that i almost always get the osoto-gari grip during randori but i can't throw osotogari.... dammit.
damn nervous abt tomolo's comp.... esp by the fact that chokes and armlocks can be used.... meaning no more humchi techniques... not that i use them often.... i seriously never won any bouts in competition b4. rather sad.
one more thing. shit lot of hmwk which i have no intention to touch at all. argh.... screw RP... dun even give us time to mug how can progress at your own pace. projects only deprive ppl from mugging time. no diff from hmwk, just that the qns is 1/2 page long instead of 2 pages. if rp is really targeted at progressing at own pace then there should be no hmwk, wif frequent pop quizzes. not that i think i am too clever for rp, but i think that too much hmwk not only not improve studies, but prevent ppl from doing xtra study. argh...htf will i survive wif only 3hrs of free time a day? my hmwk are snowballing oredy.
crap... this year will be really screwed up for me. chalked up 7 demerit pts for being late. screw. shud follow sum ppl's example and sneak in like 7.55am.

on tuesday went to Mediacorp to support the RISC in the great science challenge. Studio is actually not as magnificent as u see on TV.
when we went in, alwyn walked in front of me and i heard one of the SCGS girls seated at the audience seats mention "cute butt". mr Xu wei zhen(if i didn't remember wrongly) said he heard that too. :-) mao tong was quite pissed when i mentioned it to him. later, there was an experimental round rehearsal, and for the fairness of the game, everybody except the presenting team and the organisers were to get out of the studio. someone(4got who) said that they let us out and they would expect us to go to the toilet, and off we went.
alwyn rushed in and used the only urinal in a rather.. isolated toilet near a carpark. i was queued up behind a friend called "ng yongsheng", and as alwyn was pissed, i purposely knocked into ys a few times causing his **** to knock into the urinal. later when i pissed i got knocked a few times as well...by who else....
yiyuan was using the cubical to shit, and *some ppl* pushed against the toliet door from outside to lock him in. when yiyuan tried to come out he was kinda stuck inside, so he pushed the door outwards with all his might and with his ingenuity, pushed the door handle upwards. the door happened to be hinged from above, to needless to say the door got detached.
so all of us tried to stuff the door back in but was quite useless. some ppl heard the noise and went in and said,"sigh, spoilt again" and mr Xu walked in too, and asked us wad happened. he tried not to laugh and said,"ok, if i were you, i would put the door some place where it wouldn't drop, and leave this place as though nothing happened." so we left.
later we met the teacher and gordon asked,"are we going to be late?" mr wee said "not likely anytime soon. go and amuse yourselves without cards" then this triggered some giggles from mr xu and us. some other teacher said "did u break anything?" "erm...." "wait, let me rephrase, did u try to break anything? because sometimes you may try to break something and it doesn't" "OH no nonono... we didn't try to break anything, we wouldn't do that" then mr Xu, sitting beside the teachers, was really trying very hard to keep himself from breaking into laughter... his whole face was red...
so into the competition. ri team thrashed the rest in the first elimination round, with a score of 38 marks as others got 28, 26, 25. SCGS was eliminated. then the score was reset to 0 and next came the speed round... basically from 4 answers choose the correct one and the fastest gets 2 marks while the rest gets one mark, and incorrect or null answers get 0 marks. so basically it was a button-spamming round-and-some-luck round. it had only 6 questions. ri lost. IMO thats quite screwed up, because the questions are relatively easy for a show that is to be screened on TV, and 10 seconds are given to answer, while actually everyone answered in less than half second. so everyone was just waiting for the timer to finish. dunman was an expert button spammer. so they won. boohoo. qns shud've been more and harder this year. (personally i wouldn't be confident if i could answer it if nex yer was harder than this year.

okay, so i shall recall
friday training was fun. randori, chokes and armlocks. no PT. and chance to practice my beloved-but-never-used uchimata. i wun mind doing uchimata nagekomi or uchikomi, even like 300. seoi-nage uchikomi is tough shit.
saturday training was quite slack considering that it was a saturday training :) . chin-ups, 15- min run, randori, chokes, armlocks, groundwork. all very fun. no PT as well(wait a minute, is running and chin-ups considered PT?).
oh yes, special mention to jimmer for correcting the fatal error that i have been committing for a year(which leads to zhao3 si3 type of playing). grabbing the sleeve during attacking is much more useful than pushing it away. avoided getting whacked by lincoln and mitchell like i always had. first step.... yes.... and tyco "countered" justin.... thanks a lot jimr. you are great.
and, recalling the steamboat race on friday, it was quite nice. at first we saw other schools' boat designs and we were quite scared...esp chung cheng high and nanhua. their boats looked damn solid(on a side note, chung cheng's boat was designed in such a way that it looked like some sorta communist campaign...things like ai4 wo3 zhong1 zheng4 and zhong1 zheng4 zhan3 chi4 were written on their boat....quite intimidating, i would say).
we sent the boat that was able to keep straight for the race. it was a good choice. most schools had fast boats, but were unable to keep straight, leading to their downfall. three of them gostaned.
our boat moved straight, but wasn't really fast. was much faster than many other schools though. we did 2.5metres in 26 secs, breaking the 34-seconds record so far. we were first. then were like shocked... "how many secs?" "26 seconds." "36?" "no, 26!" "really?" "yes, we won!!!"
then we had our pic taken by about 6 cameras. someone interviewed us as well. i was euphoric. it was almost like a dream. then when we were about to be interviewed, another boat broke our record by one second.
so we got interviewed. she was asking us about our level, our stream, and how we came together... and stuff like why we chose this boat, and how many other boats we tested and made. in short, the process involved in this competition.
we got third.
we were kinda bu4 gan1 xing1... coz they apparently changed the rules in favour of the people who did not read them carefully. for example, it was stated that the judges and contestants were not allowed to touch the boat while it was running the race. then the first boat gostaned. the second boat didn't move. the third boat crashed to the side and remained stagnant. the fourth boat gostaned as well. the fifth boat ran around in circles. the sixth boat capsized due to stability problem.... so the competition went for about half-an-hour without any boat reaching the finishing line.
so they changed the rules there and then. the competition restarted. WOW. now the judges would tap the boat back on course if it is off course. our boat was the only boat that didn't require any tapping.
and then also there was a rule on : NO OTHER FUELS OTHER THAN CANDLE WAX which was only mentioned in the briefing, not in the rule sheet. one of the schools that overtook us did not attend the briefing, and they happily used cotton wool soaked in kerosine. they didn't get disqualified. they got awarded for creativity.
so we got third. -ilii nex year i would consult Lulu for the kind of "fuel" to use. and ggy for the kind of "propulsion" to use.
but well, we won a hundred bucks. which will be donated to the school. the next person to break a window, thank us.

omg... i did something very evil yesterday.
i saw this sec 3 guy wif round cheeks whom i had seen b4 but i wasn't sure who he was. he was wearing a bicycle helmet. i thought it was a bit strange, so i went up to him and said, "hi. why are u waering a helmet?" while i was knocking his helmet. then he gave me a rather stunned look. then my friend went up to him and said, "hi, desmond."
i was like thinking HOLY SHIT (and in case u haven't realised THATS DESMOND CHAN) I ACTUALLY DID THAT... omfg....i hate myself...sob.
hehe... i have not school tomolo coz i got competition from 8-12... funness.
anyway i am tired of trying to speak like Edward. it's insane. so i'm back to speaking bad english, and insulting the original intent of the language...yeah man...life is great.

somehow i have skipped todays' supposedly very tough training. this was because i had to go to the national skin centre for the treatment of my neck. i felt like some sort of
gienea pig, because at first a young doctor asked me questions and checked my neck... later i went into a room with 3 young doctors and one senior consultant. he was speaking in medical terms that i did not understand. in the end i did not even know what i had and what actually caused the sores. then he asked me to go for liquid nitrogen treatment.
great. the doctor whom i consulted in the polyclinic said that my case was not warts because it was too small, and i would not be using liquid nitrogen treatment. and that sounded great, due to the hideous look of alwyn's warts that came into contact with liquid nitrogen. and now i was going for liquid nitrogen treatment.
the treatment unexpectedly caused little pain. in fact it was less painful than a shock from a whimshurst generator. it was quite cold though. got a pretty nurse to apply it for me using cotton buds :D
oh well.
so i have decided to do the microelectronics project. we have got to get out of our comfort zone. there is no need to do familiar stuff. and anyway it is not everyday that i would get an opportunity to try my hand on it, so there. however, reading up on electronics is already sleep-inducing. i wonder what would happen in microelectronics. but knowing what a transistor is is a good start.
in case you are wondering why i am writing with such consciousness on grammer and sentence structure, refer to my previous post.

hmm... convinced that uchikomies improve your throw. i'm quite slow, huh? somehow my throw seems stronger after doing 440 uchikomies.
argh... inferior complex. feel inferior about everything. inferior in science. inferior in judo. inferior in academics. inferior in looks. everything. i sure could do wif a weights machine for help. very likely becoz i just visited www.loneoceans.com.
GEPs are powerful people. qns that take me one or two weeks to answer take them much shorter. for example, "when an MRT achieves constant decceleration towards the west, the passengers should, by right, lose balance towards the west. Instead, from observation, they tend to lose balance to the east. why is this so?" Alex ang answered it in 2 seconds. Guess they are not called "gifted" for nothing.
oh yes, for research, i was at first informed that i was taking a microelectronics project myself under some professor. i was quite shocked. i never said i wanted to do it, or even say that i was interested, and i happened to get into it? so i asked dr. jeffrey lee(school teacher) why i was chosen. he said when i went for an excursion together with the science club to the institute of microelectronics, he picked me from a feedback form i wrote. i forgot what i could have written to get a professor to choose me for SMP. i only recall writing some crazy stuff that i wrote under of the influence of some thought. maybe professors like crazy stuff.
i declined this project(what mitchell called "great opportunity"), becoz firstly, i already had in my mind to do a project of crystallisation. secondly, i was already quite busy and i wondered if SMP could clash wif my CCA. thirdly, i was and still am not interested in microelectronics. the excursion was not really interesting(in fact i could hardly understand what the people were saying, and the gadgets there daunts me). fourthly, if i do a project wif my friend who lives close to me, we could have project meeting almost everyday, because we are only about 2km apart, no problem on "oh school is too far i dun want to go, nono going to ur house is not fair for me, nono, dun come and mess up my house".
now i just checked my asknlearn account. it says that both me and the friend are embarking on the microelectronics project. great.... mitchell's gonna be so excited. i have just successfully sabohed my friend.
now what... i was supposed to have handed up the project proposal on 12th of january. even b4 i was informed of this. so how? gotta rack my brains to try recall what i wrote in the feedback form that caught the attention of the professor. sigh. i am apprehensive of this project.
omg. what a nice way to start a project. haven done my SS yet. i am likely to be staying up late tonight. the start of the vicious cycle of waking up late, then late for school, then late to sleep blah blah blah. got 5 demerit points like this. in fact i think joon fai knows me like this. nice.... confirm get detention one. gives me time to think about "the greater complexities of life".
mr edward de cruz has emphasized the importance of speaking and writing good english when we in our normal lives. i shall make an attempt to do so. wish me luck. i'm gonna need it.
btw, alwyn, put in some effort in setting your *bio* qns. i have set my 15 chem qns. and you only need to set 14 *wink*.
